Eat Cake!!🧁

Let them eat cake March monthly premium
Have you seen the Oddballartstamps  March exclusive image?  Let Them Eat Cake is another fabulous digital image from Oddballartstamps creator  Lizzy.  This premium set comes with 6 png and a jpeg and is available to all premium members.  Not a premium member? Sign up is super easy and for the low price of $15 a year you get exclusive images each week and an amazing monthly stamp!  In 2019 there were 125 images so you can see that’s a fantastic bargain!
I hope you enjoy the inspiration I am sharing this week.  As with most images I start with a layer of copic markers (this time I didn’t use any marker on the hair but rather built the color with layers of prisma colored pencils.  I really love how the hair turned out but it took me days to tweak it, but she was worth it.  The pink frosting drip is from a Tim Holtz stamp and emboss combination (Halloween zombies 2018).  I embossed on pale pink paper and added distress ink on top and get pen highlights.
The cupcake frosting is modeling paste  swirled on top of cardstock.  Can you see the texture?

Magic carpet

Spells magic carpet ride
Happy St Patrick’s Day!🍀
When it comes to St Patrick’s Day I always think of magic and rainbows 🌈 , ever since I was a little kid.  You can keep your leprechauns and clover ....just kidding!  Oddballartstamps  has a huge variety of images for all your holiday needs and more.  Use my code CHR1 for a free digital image when you buy two!
Have you ever made a water color galaxy.  They were popular a few years ago but I think it worked for this  project. This is a picture after paint is laid down and the kosher salt added (the salt makes the star formations).

Here is a close up you can see what the salt does to paint.  Also, look at that rug texture!
This project is true mixed media.  It combines watercolor, copic markers and prisma colored pencils and black widow light skin colored pencils! Again check out the Oddballartstamps shop for all your holiday images and any other creepy cute ideas you have!

Lil Sugar Pop

LIL SUGAR POP
Hello creatives!  We are half way through the month and so half way through our 3rd Clever Dexter challenge.  This month our theme is Struck by Luck with an optional color theme of hunter green, black, yellow and mint green. Clearly I didn’t use the color scheme this month.  This March our fabulous sponsor is Polka doodles  and the image I am using is Lil Sugar pop unicorn, isn’t she adorable.  Be sure and check their shop for more amazing products
This little cutie was colored with prisma colored pencils and gel pens for sparkle. The background, which I chose to leave pretty simple is due cut from Tim Holtz thinlit # 663095.
I hope this inspires you to join the Clever Dexter challenge.  Remember is you use an image from our sponsor Polka doodles you are eligible for prizes and bragging rights for the next month!  See Clever Dexter blog for details.

Mad Hat

Have you joined in the Clever Dexter  Challenge?  This March our theme is Struck by Luck, with an optional color scheme of hunter green, mint, yellow and black.  Our sponsor again this month is the fabulous Polka doodles.
For this card I used the Winnie in wonderland Hat.  I used a base of copic markers on the image and then added prisma colored pencils layers over that (Hat—black, 1067 90% cold grey and 1101 denim blue).  I printed this image twice, for the second image I cut out the pink flower with the cup (10/6) colored it and attached that piece to a wobble and placed it over that same image on the hat.  I think a Wonderland project needs a bit of the unexpected....magic if you will.  Next, I cut out a large circle from a  navy stripped piece of card stock and a smaller circle from a polka dot card stock and glued them together.  The hat was then mounted on top with mounting tape.  The sentiment was die cut and applied to the smaller circle and I added a few “tea stains” using a Tim Holtz stencil and distress ink.
Hope this inspires you to create a project!

Superhero

Friday!  Creepy Cute Chronicles newsletter releases tonight and this handsome fella is the premium image and the sentiment of the newsletter freebie.  A few years ago I got this paper from Carta Bella called Toy Box and this was the perfect opportunity to use it.  I was excited to pair these items for a fun little wall hanging, for my new little grandson.  I am pretty sure my little buddy will be a ginger like his dad.
I colored a base of copic markers all over the little superhero and his side kick. Then added layers of Prisma premium colored pencils to build the depth up.  The accent stars ⭐️ we’re die cut from Carta Bella collection.
Are you a premium member yet?  For as little as $15 a year you get tons of images like Superhero!
Have a terrific weekend

Alexa Oola

Hi there!  Chris here with a project that is out of this world!  For this project I used #522 Alexa Oola
intergalactic superstar.  First thing I did was color Alexa and the rocket ship.  I used only prisma colored pencils.  Unfortunately, I don’t have a process picture of that and i didn’t keep track of the colors.  Ugh!
I wanted this card to have movement.  I mean come on a rocket needs to propel through the air
right?  This picture shows the slider die.
Once you have placed the cut for the slider it’s  time to build the slider mechanism.  Since the rocket is a big object I used two for balance.  First take 2 pennies and place a small pop dot in the middle of one and sandwich them together.
Then place a larger dot on top (to hold the rocket).  Repeat the process for the second mechanism.  Finally, place the rocket on of the pennies.
After I finished the slider I decided I needed a planet.  I used cold pressed watercolor paper to make this purple watercolor planet.  Finally, it was time to put it all together.  What do you think?  Is it other worldly?  (Below is a close up of Alexa Oola!)
